Surveying Adventures

Our survey crews are accustomed to braving the cold and enduring the heat. Insects, thorns and poison ivy are a common place. Yet, this recent project came as a bit of a shock. The first photo (from Google Earth) is what we expected to find. The next two photos are what the crew recently encountered at an Amtrak Train Station in McComb, Mississippi. Yes, that is Kudzu, an invasive Asiatic vine said to be taking over the South. Notice the power lines in the first picture then try to find them in the next two. Amazing what mother nature can throw at you.

These two photos show what was at the site when the survey crew showed up.
